DEAN KILMER

Dean Kilmer is a graduate of Harding University and has a Masters Degree from Abilene Christian University.

He serves as the preaching minister for the 600 member Church of Christ on Brown Street in Waxahachie Texas (formerly the College Street Church of Christ).

He is the Senior Advisor for the Moral Courage Foundation. As a representative of the Foundation, he is presently teaching classes for high school students who are referred to the courts for truancy. In conjunction with this effort, he is working on motivational materials for underachieving students.

Dean has been married to his wife Karen for 40 years. They have two married children and five grandchildren.

Dean's Family:

  • His wife Karen is a reading skills specialist with the Itasca schools.
  • Son Keith is the minister for the Robinson Avenue Church of Christ in Springdale, Arkansas.
  • Daughter-in-law Michele is a nurse practitioner.
  • Keith and Michele have three children: Clay, McKenzie and Kylie.
  • Daughter Kelly is an LPC living in McKinney, Texas.
  • Son-in-law Jonathan is an engineer with Edward’s Electronics.
  • Kelly and Jonathan have two children: Connor and Luke.

Dean's Ministry:

  • He has served churches in Texas and Oklahoma for the past thirty years, including
    • Cedar Hill Church of Christ in Cedar Hill, Texas
    • Adams Boulevard Church of Christ in Bartlesville, Oklahoma
    • Lamar Avenue Church of Christ in Paris, Texas
    • Oakcrest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City
  • His recent book, Igniting the Moral Courage of America, inspired the development of the Moral Courage Foundation, which provides large college scholarships for students who live by Biblical moral principles. The Foundation is active in Waxahachie and is spreading to other cities in Texas.
  • He is presently working to help improve character development in our schools.
